Brett McMullen (born June 7, 1963) is a country music and Gospel singer, known for blending traditional honky tonk and mainstream country sounds and penning his own recorded music. He has recorded 4 studio albums: 1 bluegrass Gospel album, 3 Gospel albums and 4 traditional singles released on itunes.
Brett was born to Paul and Janet McMullen Sr in Clearwater, FL and has one younger brother. Brett and his wife, his mother and father, brother and his wife all work at the family business, McMullen Oil Company Inc. A business started by Brett’s grandfather in 1932.
In 1995, after a chance meeting in a Pinellas Park bar, Brett signed with Jack McFadden (McFadden Artists – Nashville). With interest building among the Nashville record labels, in 1997, he and his wife, Karen, moved to Nashville where he hoped to pursue music full time. However, Jack McFadden passed away in 1998 and the interest quickly faded and Brett moved his family back to Clearwater.
In 2002, Brett met Rob DeMorrow, a local singer/songwriter, while attending Church. That meeting has lead to a fruitful songwriting partnership resulting in a 90 song catalog and a vocal blend that has become Brett’s signature sound.
Today, Brett continues to write and record and occasionally perform at local restaurants, Churches and Charity events.
